The mating surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder head need to be perfectly flat so that the gasket between the two components will be able to perform its role effectively by providing a perfect seal once the bolts are tightened. If this is not the case, that mean the cylinder head or block is distort. So it needs to be resurfaced for proper flatness.

Napco provides precision leveling to permit an even and minimal stock removal from inline head to maintain balanced combustion chamber performance on our highly sophisticated European machine where we obtain a magic finish on all type of cylinder head and engine block. Final inspection are made after all resurfacing on a flatness detector for guarantee.
